You’re invited to take part in a research study that I (Priyanka Jha, Doctoral Candidate) am conducting at Northern Illinois University. My goal is to quantitatively examine the impact of culturally responsive mentoring on international counseling graduate students through the lens of social cognitive career theory. I am asking individuals to reflect on their experiences with research mentorship during their graduate programs. In addition to fulfilling the degree requirements, your support will be of tremendous help to advance the research in this area and result in better research mentoring practices in our field. This research project has been approved by Northern Illinois University Institutional Review Board (#HS25-0068).
Inclusion Criteria: Please ensure that you meet the following criteria before you agree to participate in the study. Specifically, counseling and counselor education graduate students (or graduated within past one year):

Who self-identifies as international students in the U.S.

At least 18 years old;

Enrolled in a master’s and doctoral level program in Counseling or Counselor Education (or have graduated within the past one year).

Currently receiving or have received research mentorship during your graduate study in the U.S.
Participation:
Participation involves completing a 10-15-minute online survey which includes a set of demographic questions followed by a survey containing 70 items. If you, or a colleague you know, meet the above criteria and are interested in participating in this study, I invite you to complete the online survey through the following link:
Compensation:
As an incentive for participation, the participants are eligible to receive a $10 gift card, which will be sent after the completion of data collection.
Your Rights:
Participants have the right to withdraw at any point during the study, for any reason, and without any prejudice. Also, if participants do not want to answer certain questions, you are free to pass on the question and move forward to complete the rest of the questions.
