For the first time ever, FIVE current NCCU Counseling students have been awarded Fellowships by the National Board for Certified Counselors Foundation (NBCC-F) in the same year. Shehnila Ali, Wesley Wade, Lacrisha Holcomb, and Kiel Frett were each awarded NBCCF Minority Masters Fellowships for Addictions Counseling (each fellowship worth $11,000). At the same time, Crystal McDowell was awarded an NBCCF Minority Masters Fellowship for Mental Health Counseling (worth $5,000).
The total amount awarded to NCCU Counseling students this year by the NBCC Foundation is $49,000.
Shehnila, Crystal, Wesley, Lacrisha, and Kiel join past alumni, Dr. Robert Horne and Dr. Crystal Burwell, as recipients of awards from the NBCC Foundation.
