Please review the information provided by Orange County Schools below:
Thank you for considering the Orange County School (OCS) system as the prospective site for your student teaching, internship or pre-service experience. OCS is a small district that can really take time to work and develop young teachers. We host a plethora of students from a variety of surrounding universities and universities throughout NC and the Nation.
Students must work through the field placement liaison at their college or university regarding potential OCS placements. Students are not permitted to contact schools or Human Resources directly to request placements.
Any student who wishes to seek a school placement with OCS must submit the following:
- An online criminal background check, including national and state sex offender checks: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VO0TgLGcw80XafREDADlmruJAuZMJ_ZfBsLvDMwl3qc/edit?usp=sharing

- Student's name
- Student's contact information: email and summer address
- Semester place is requested for: Fall, Spring, or Year Long
- Placement assignment information: elementary, middle, high, subject area if applicable
- Any special requests to be considered
- Any other relevant information that would be helpful in making a placement
Placements will be made before our teachers leave for the summer if possible in order to connect the student teacher with their cooperating teacher as soon as possible. Please submit all placement requests to Meg Merritt at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
