COUNSELOR EDUCATION PROGRAM -- North Carolina Central University

The Counselor Education Program at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is seeking applicants for the Fall 2020 doctoral cohort. At VCU, we believe different perspectives and expertise enhance possibilities and solutions. This philosophy drives our recruitment process, so we welcome applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds, who will contribute to an already diverse community of faculty, staff, and students. VCU’s School of Education is ranked 11th best public graduate program in education by U.S. News & World Report. In addition, while only in our 6th year as a program, we just received the 2019 Outstanding Doctoral Counselor Education and Supervision Program Award.

We offer full-time and part-time course sequences for doctoral students with classes being offered in the late afternoons and evenings. Select graduate assistantships are available that include tuition remission in addition to competitive stipends. Alumni of our doctoral program are successful in obtaining full-time faculty positions and becoming leaders in the counseling field.
