The faculty in the Counseling and Human Development Department at the George Washington University are currently accepting (until March 1, 2015) and reviewing applications for the Fall 2015 cohort. Financial assistance is available for highly qualified applicants.

The Department of Counseling and Human Development offers two CACREP-Accredited Master’s degree programs (one in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and the other in School Counseling). In addition, we offer a CORE accredited Master’s degree program in Rehabilitation Counseling. Our doctoral program is CACREP accredited, and has maintained accreditation since 1984. Our program is moderately sized with typical Fall semester cohorts of 6-10 students.  Our productive faculty are leaders in the field, and have diverse research interests and theoretical approaches within the counseling field

Our doctoral program in Counselor Education and Supervision prepares students for leadership roles in academia, community mental health centers, health care settings, government agencies, private practice, research centers and think tanks, and school settings. We have an excellent track record of placing program graduates in the settings of their choice.
