Greetings from the Department of Counseling at the University of Texas at San Antonio! We invite you to apply to our CACREP accredited PhD program in counselor education and supervision. Our program is located in a vibrant, diverse, urban setting. We offer both a cohort based full time program and a convenient part time plan of study. The full time program can be completed in 3 to 3 1/2 years and the part time program can be completed in 4 1/2 to 5 years. Our Department is uniquely focused on diversity, creativity, and relational development.
Highlights of our Department and faculty include:
· Recipient of the 2011-2012 Association for Counselor Education and Supervision Robert E. Frank Outstanding Program Award.
· Faculty members who hold office in a number of national, state, and local associations and are actively involved in advancing the counseling profession and supporting students in their connection with the counseling profession.
· UTSA is also the founding home of the Association for Creativity in Counseling and houses the Journal of Creativity in Mental Health, a national peer-reviewed journal.
Our faculty and students pursue research and specialty areas in creativity in counseling, multicultural counseling, school counseling, self-injury, suicide, supervision, technology, youth & family counseling, and more!
