COUNSELOR EDUCATION PROGRAM -- North Carolina Central University

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Department of Counseling at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, 30 minutes north of downtown Detroit, is currently accepting applications for admission to our CACREP-accredited Doctor of Philosophy in Education: Counseling program. 

The program prepares students for leadership roles within the field in the areas of scholarship, research, teaching, advanced clinical practice, supervision, advanced school counseling practice, and administration.  Students can pursue one of five cognate areas: addictions counseling, career counseling, child and adolescent counseling, couple and family counseling, or mental health counseling.

The School of Education & Human Services (SEHS) Counseling Center is a research-practice center that provides doctoral students the opportunities to counsel clients, supervise master’s level Practicum students, and conduct clinical research independently or with faculty. 

To be considered for admission for the Fall 2015 cohort, all required application materials must be received by December 15, 2014.  Exceptional applicants may be considered for admission after the deadline on a space available basis.

A limited number of graduate assistantships are available for Fall 2015.  It is anticipated assistantships will include a stipend, nine-month tuition waiver and 20 hours per week of work.
