KENT STATE UNIVERSITY’S PhD PROGRAM IN COUNSELING AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

The faculty members in the Counseling and Human Development Services (CHDS) program at Kent State University are pleased to accept applications to our CACREP-accredited Ph.D. program in Counselor Education and Supervision. Applicants can find information about the program at www.kent.edu/ehhs/chds, and can begin their application process by going to www.kent.edu and clicking on “Apply Online.” Complete applications for fall 2015 admission are due February 1, 2015.

Building on a long tradition of academic excellence, the mission of the CHDS program at Kent State is to prepare research-informed and ethically sound educators, administrators, and advanced clinicians who conduct research, supervise, teach, and provide leadership. Resources include the Counseling and Human Development Center, where doctoral students counsel clients and supervise master’s students, and the Bureau of Research Training and Services, which provides students with research support (e.g., transcription services, data entry, and computer consultation for programming and data analysis). In part, faculty interests include teaching, supervision, and scholarship as well as family, group, and individual counseling along with school and clinical mental health counseling.

A limited number of graduate assistantships or teaching fellowships for full-time students in the CHDS Ph.D. program are anticipated for fall 2015. It is anticipated that these positions will include a stipend, nine month tuition waiver, and require 20 hours a week of work.
