Topics include managing test-taking anxiety, personalizing a study plan, and practicing multiple study strategies (e.g., mnemonic devices, flash cards). This workshop is meant to supplement other studying on core content that you have been reviewing. While we will cover exam content throughout the day, it will not be our sole or primary focus. Takng the CPCE this fall?
The CPCE will be given during a 2-week window in September 14-25. If you are in practicum and taking the CPCE this fall, but need to take the exam closer to home read further. If you will be taking the exam at NCCU follow the directions on our website for registering.
For more information on Pearson VUE COVID 19 health and safety protocol use this link. NCCU’s testing center is a Pearson VUE site.
For students that are not local to Durham/NCCU you may elect to take the CPCE closer to home foran additional fee. You still must take the exam during our September 14-25 testing window, but your directions are going to be different from those posted on the website and I need to approve you taking the CPCE off campus before you can register. If you need to take the CPCE off campus please put your email and name in this Doodle survey before our September 7th deadline.
If you need test accommodations, you must have a signed letter on NCCU letterhead sent to me by email from the Office of Student Accessibility Services and DO NOT register for the exam until I notify you. You should not register until after you hear from me on your next steps because the process is a little bit different.

I sincerely hope you have a strong start to your semester and that you have your prep plans in place to successfully pass the CPCE.
Be well,
Dr. Barrow
Do you intend to graduate this spring (May 2021)?
If so, you will need to submit your "Admission to Candidacy" form to your adviser this semester. This form (with instructions on filling it out) can be found in the "forms" area within the Student branch of our Program website.
If you intend to graduate in the spring, you should also plan to take the CPCE this semester.
Have questions? Schedule a time to speak with your adviser - and check out this page on the website.
Face Coverings
Face coverings are required at NCCU, should you come to campus. The UNC System is requiring all individuals to wear face masks or other face coverings while on campus. Signs will be posted around the School of Education that read "No Mask, No Entry".
Textbooks
Don't forget that our textbook list is always posted on the Program's website here:

Please have your materials available and ready before classes begin.
Foliotek
North Carolina Central University is switching to a new assessment system (Watermark/Taskstream). The School of Education will no longer use Foliotek. We will make information about this new system available as things progress. For now, you do not need to create or renew a Foliotek account. You will not need to upload any more documents into the Foliotek system. Please be assured that faculty will still have access to what you have already uploaded in Foliotek.
