We mourn the deaths of civil rights giants Representative John Lewis and Rev. C. T. Vivian. Together they acted as transformational servants, catalytic moral leaders, and instruments of non-violent action in the social justice movement for rights of African Americans. These losses are most especially poignant against our backdrop of continued racial injustice and health disparities. May we reflect upon their rich legacies and be inspired to keep the cause moving forward.
