Dr. Regina Gavin Williams presented with Ella Stephens Barrett Award at NCCA

On Friday, February 16, 2024, Dr. Regina Gavin Williams was presented with the Ella Stephens Barrett Award for Excellence in Professional Leadership during the North Carolina Counseling Association annual conference in Greensboro, NC.  The award is referred to as "the most coveted honor bestowed by NCCA".

Dr. Lupton-Smith and two students present at the NC Counseling Association Annual Conference


Dr. Helen Lupton-Smith, along with CMHC students Kevin Eason and Kaneisha Evans, presented at the North Carolina Counseling Association annual conference in Greensboro.

The title of their presentation was The Reflective Roadmap: A Technique to Strengthen the Closure or Termination Process for both the Counselor Trainee and their Clients.

 


March Webinar: How Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA) Complements Therapy for Sex Addiction Recovery

This webinar will discuss the 12-Step program of Sex Addicts Anonymous as well as the abbreviated personal stories of two SAA members.

Nu Chi Chi, NCCU's Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (Counseling Honor Society), would like to welcome everyone to the Spring 2024 semester. You may recall that over the past academic year, Nu Chi Chi hosted monthly virtual social hours for the counseling program. The chapter plans to continue these events throughout the Spring 2024 semester. These events will continue to occur on the 4th Sunday of every month, from 7:00-8:00pm (ET). These events are open to all students and faculty and provide a space for us to get to know & support each other while building community.  If you're available – we'd love to see you. Pop in and say hello!

Please make an appointment to speak with your advisor ASAP, if you haven't already met with them for advising.  Summer and Fall semester registration begins soon!

Don't forget that ALL summer offerings are subject to faculty availability during the summer.  No summer courses are guaranteed - as no faculty are obligated to teach during the summer months.
