Summer 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021
NCCU had three specialization tracks within the Counselor Education program. We had a total of 145 students enrolled: 8 in Career Counseling, 89 in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and 48 in School Counseling during this time period. These numbers do not include students double majoring, which is an option in our program. During the Summer 2020, Fall 2020, and Spring 2021 semesters, we graduated 4 Career Counseling students, 14 Clinical Mental Health Counseling students, and 12 School Counseling students. The completion rate was 99% for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, 100% for the Career Counseling Program, and 100% for the School Counseling Program. There was an 88% pass rate for state counseling licensure exams (NCE). There was a 100% PRAXIS II exam pass rate for school licensing. The job placement rate was 100% for Career Counseling, 83% for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and 78% School Counseling. Job placement rates reflect "no response" rather than not employed.
NCCU had a 48-semester hour Career Counseling Degree Program (online and campus), a 60 semester-hour Clinical Mental Health Counseling Degree Program (online and campus), and a 60 semester-hour School Counseling Degree Program (online and campus). As of Fall 2021, the Career Counseling Degree Program is 60 semester hours. All programs are CACREP accredited, and we are recognized by IRCEP (International Registry for Counselor Education Programs). We are located in an urban setting with much diversity within both our faculty and student body. We had 12 full time counseling faculty and utilize a number of other affiliates to administer our program.

We had 10 students enrolled in Career Counseling, 79 in Clinical Mental Health, and 53 in School Counseling during this time period. These numbers do not include students double majoring, which is an option in our program. During the Summer 2019, Fall 2019, and Spring 2020 semesters, we graduated 5 Career Counseling students, 26 Clinical Mental Health Counseling students, and 17 School Counseling students. The completion rate was 97% for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, 100% for the Career Counseling Program, and 98% for the School Counseling Program. There was a 81% pass rate for state counseling licensure exams (NCE & NCMHCE). We have noticed a dip in the licensure pass rates given the onset of online programming and the use of the National Clinical Mental Health Exam as an option for students. We are making intentional efforts to address these factors. There was a 100% PRAXIS II exam pass rate for school licensing. The job placement rate was 100% for Career Counseling, 92% for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and 94% School Counseling. Our graduates have been successful at being employed within their specialization within counseling.

The completion rate for the Career track was 100% and 99% for the School and Clinical Mental Health program tracks. There was a 67% pass rate for state counseling licensure exams (NCE & NCMHCE). There was a 61% pass rate for state counseling licensure and a 100% PRAXIS pass rate for school licensing. The job placement rate was 91% for Career Counseling, 100% for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and 100% for School Counseling. Our graduates have been successful at being employed within their specialization within counseling.

During the Summer 2016, Fall 2016, and Spring 2017 semesters, we graduated 10 Career Counseling students, 15 Clinical Mental Health Counseling students, and 10 School Counseling students. The completion rate for all 3 program tracks was 100% for Career, School and Clinical Mental Health. Our graduates performed exceptionally well on licensing examinations with a 83% NCE pass rate for state counseling licensure and a 100% PRAXIS pass rate for school licensing. The job placement rate was 100% for Career Counseling, 100% for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and 100% for School Counseling. Our graduates have been successful at being employed within their specialization within counseling.

During the Summer 2015, Fall 2015, and Spring 2016 semesters, we graduated 5 Career Counseling students, 16 Clinical Mental Health Counseling students, and 10 School Counseling students. Our graduates performed exceptionally well on licensing examinations with a 100% NCE pass rate for state counseling licensure and a 100% PRAXIS pass rate for school licensing. The completion rate for all 3 program tracks, defined as the percentage of admitted students who graduate from the program within the expected time period of 2 ½ years, was 100% for Career and School Counseling and 93% for Clinical Mental Health. The job placement rate was 100% for Career Counseling, 100% for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and 90% for School Counseling. Our graduates have been successful at being employed within their specialization within counseling.

During the Summer 2014, Fall 2014, and Spring 2015 semesters, we graduated 1 Career Counseling student, 20 Clinical Mental Health Counseling students, and 9 School Counseling students. Our graduates performed exceptionally well on licensing examinations with a 94% NCE pass rate for state counseling licensure and a 100% PRAXIS pass rate for school licensing. The completion rate for all 3 program tracks was 90%, defined as the percentage of admitted students who graduate from the program within the expected time period of 2 ½ years. We had a 100% PRAXIS pass rate for school licensing.
