COUNSELOR EDUCATION PROGRAM -- North Carolina Central University

Kelly King-2The Counselor Education Program at North Carolina Central University is pleased to announce the hiring of a new faculty member: Dr. Kelly King.

Dr. King is an Assistant Professor in Counselor Education at NCCU with interests in culturally responsive counseling and recovery from addiction. She received her PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education from UNCG in 2018. She has a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a concentration in Couples and Family Counseling, also from UNCG. Dr. King has completed research projects on cultural immersion, broaching race and racism with clients, as well as the role of emotion regulation in sex addiction. Additionally, she remains active in clinical work by providing pro-bono counseling services to residents at TROSA in Durham, NC.
