CPCE - Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Exam
Are you taking practicum or internship now (fall 2025) and have not completed the CPCE (Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Exam)? A passing score on the CPCE (commonly called comps) is required for graduation. The fall CPCE testing window is September 8-19, 2025.
Go to NCCUcounseling.com>students>Comprehensive Exam>CPCE registration interest and all the information you need is provided. Use this Google survey to begin the process. Why complete the survey? This allows Dr. Barrow to endorse you for testing on campus, close to home or even at home and to send you customized directions for testing after you are endorsed. Please use the link below for more information, including a link to the Google survey. Deadline is August 30, 2025.

Fall Residencies
CON 5351: Group Counseling
For those students taking CON 5351 in the fall semester, you will have a required residency on November 17-18, 8:30am-5pm each day.
CON 5371: Pre-Practicum Counseling Skills
For those students taking CON 5371 in the fall, you will have a required residency either October 28-29 or October 30-31. Specific dates are found below.
- Section 01: October 28-29
- Sections OL1 and OL2: October 30-31
2025 MOA and Special Request Timeline (Practicum and Internship)
Fall 2025
- Fall 2025 MOA deadline date: Friday, July 11, 2025
- Special request deadline date: Monday, June 9, 2025
- Field Service Committee will meet: Thursday, June 12, 2025
- Students will be notified by: Monday, June 16, 2025
