<title>NCCU Counselor Education approved by the International Registry of Counselor Education Programs</title>
			<link>http://nccucounseling.com/students/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=359</link>
<description>The Department of Counselor Education has successfully completed a registration process with IRCEP, an international affiliate of CACREP.
From IRCEP's website (http://www.ircep.org/ircep/template/index.cfm):
The International Registry of Counsellor Education Programs (IRCEP) was created in 2009 to foster excellence in the education and training of professional counsellors worldwide. As an international quality assurance review process, IRCEP was purposefully designed to empower programs to develop counsellor training curricula appropriate to their country, regions, and/or culture, while simultaneously recognizing the broad tenets of education and training common to the practice of counselling regardless of practice location.
The Career Counseling, Community Counseling, and School Counseling programs have been approved by IRCEP.</description>

			<title>Stacey Hayes: 2010 ACA Foundation Scholarship Recipient</title>
			<link>http://nccucounseling.com/students/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=285</link>
			<description> (http://nccucounseling.com/students/images/stories/staceyhayesaca2010.jpg)
Stacey Hayes, NCCU Clinical Mental Health Counseling Candidate, recently received the American Counseling Association (ACA) Foundation 2010 Graduate Student Annual Conference Scholarship Award&amp;rlm;. This award covered the registration fee for this year's annual conference in Pittsburgh.
To be eligible for the award, applicants needed to be counseling graduate students who were both ACA members and first-time conference attendees. The application process included writing an essay. At the conference, the ACA Foundation hosted a small reception for recipients, which was also attended by ACA President Lynn Linde and ACA Past-president (and noted author) Dr. Samuel Gladding.
Stacey is the second NCCU Counseling student in as many months to receive a national award. Last month, Kinea Epps received an American School Counseling Association (ASCA) award (http://nccucounseling.com/students/index.php?option=com_content task=view id=275 Itemid=1).
Please join us in congratulating Stacey!
